Second interim show.

For the second Interim show, I decided to place 2 images next to each other on one piece of A2 semi-gloss paper. This is because this paper seemed to work really well in the last Interim and therefore I wanted to use it again to have the same effect. I placed 2 images together on one sheet of paper rather than separately so that people could easily tell that they were from the same project and that they were related.

I am really happy with the outcome of this Interim show, because I think the images I have used will help me to progress with my project and figure out new and exciting ideas. One thing that was said to me during feedback was that placing both of the images together was a bit confusing - they seemed to clash and it wasn't clear why they were placed like this rather than as separate prints; this is something for me to consider when printing images again.

Final pin up session (with feedback).

Today we had our last pin up session to get feedback from the people in our class - this has been really helpful in the past to allow me to see how I could improve my work for the exhibition. I decided on placing quite a few images on the wall because I think my project is a lot more effective when multiple images are placed together. Here is what I placed on the wall: It wasn't the best place to put work up on the walls as there was a lot of marks from where people had drawn on the board, so was a slight distraction I thought. I decided to place 3 different paper types on the wall to see if people thought they worked well together: acetate, semi gloss and metallic. I also placed some images on top of others to reflect the meaning of the project and to give it more depth. BIPP talk and competition.

Today we had the opportunity to listen to BIPP member Bryn Griffiths talk to us about his practice and to show us some images that he has taken over the years - he has 35 years experience in this field and therefore I knew it would be interesting to see how he has got to where he is now. He has won awards for his photography, which I will go further into later on in this post. He started off by showing us an image of a car and asked how many images had made that image possible. A lot of people made guesses, ranging from 2 to around 15 - the answer was, in fact, 74 and I was really shocked at how one image of a car could be made up of so many images. He stated that at age 15, he was either considering doing accountancy or photography and did some work experience at somewhere called Big Shots. Shoot 3.

Taking inspiration from one of the artists that I looked at - Brandon Woelfel - I decided to do a photoshoot similar to the one that I did previously using self portraiture but this time using another person, to really try and experiment more with the fairy lights and also do the shoot with another person which I think worked better than my test shoot simply because I was behind the camera and not trying to do both. All original images: When editing the images, I realised that a lot of them didn't work at all as they were either blurry, not exposed correctly or just didn't work for some other reason. Images that don't work: In these images, I was testing the lighting and how I could hold the lights to take the pictures I wanted. Because I was trying to take pictures at the same time as holding lights, the images ended up not coming out very well and ended up blurring a lot.
